This book is about 10 people, all with a dark, and hidden past, that get invited by a wealthy millionaire to an Island far away from the rest of civilization. They are greeted at the island, but they do not get to meet the host. All very confused, they spend the night there, having fun, getting to know each other. They all have similarities and soon find out that there’s a reason why they were specifically chosen to be invited to the island. Their theory proves to be correct when one night, tragedy strikes in the mansion. This story is based on the 1945 version of, “10 Little Indians.” This book is ultimately about a murder mystery, and trying to find out who, or what caused the deaths that take place in this book.
This book was an absolute phenomenon. It was enjoyable, exciting, and in all, just excellent. Truly a masterpiece. There were definitely times when I wanted to put the book down, and just take a break, but the book always got me coming back, wanting more and more. The book is filled with loving characters, and the way they act with each other is just wholesome. Although the book quickly went downhill, into a dark turn, the way Christie executed it was perfection. I personally have always loved fantasy genres and was never really a fan of the mystery genre. However, when I read this book, I felt something I’ve never felt before when reading a mystery: excitement. The book really shows the cases of greed, selfishness, arrogance, and how being naïve can hurt you. If you’re a mystery-loving person, this book will show out to you as a work of art, the $1,000,000 book. Even if you don’t, I am positive this book will get to you in a way that makes your opinion on mysteries change. Although the book was great, there were a few moments where I felt like the dialogue was really cringe, and was really cheesy. I didn’t like that although for being a mystery, no one really used their brain. However, I find this really cool that Christie purposely made the characters kind of clueless, making it harder and harder for them to solve the mystery, adding more and more suspense between the book and the viewer. In the end, this book is really exquisite, and I don’t think another book will be written as pure and as excellent as this one. I definitely suggest this book to anyone looking to jump into more sophisticated literature.
