This book follows Robert Oppenheimer, a physics professor, known as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb” because of his determination to win the race to build the deadliest weapon in history. Oppenheimer, who was Jewish, wanted to help the Jews in Germany and beat Hitler in the race to develop the new atomic bomb. Oppenheimer worked tirelessly with the U.S. Uranium Committee on what became known as the “gadget” to overcome many problems before their ultimate success to beat Germany and the rest of the world on their quest to create the first atomic bomb.
I would recommend this book. It is an intense story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s gripping to see Oppenheimer turn his fears into determination and positive energy to create a massive weapon and save the U.S. and its democracy.
