The story focuses on an African American teen named Justyce. He lives in Atlanta and is an intelligent student. The novel describes Justyce’s life as an African American teen and the discrimination that he faces. Justyce must endure many hardships in his life as many people in his city degrade him for his skin color. From his love life to being racially profiled, Justyce must endure lots of suffering and manage through it all.
I would recommend others to read this novel. The novel encompasses a lot of our society’s problems and tells a capturing story about them. Dear Martin is a very engrossing story that makes you want to read more and more. However, the story is quite upsetting, but like with lots of other novels, it has its highs and lows. It isn’t too long of a read either, so it is definitely worth the time to check out.
