Divergent takes place in a futuristic world divided into five factions: Abnegation, Erudite, Dauntless, Candor, and Amity. At age sixteen, Tris must choose a faction to spend the rest of her life in; however, she discovers that she is “Divergent” and fits into more than one faction. Consequently, she learns about a looming war and the severity of her status.
I would recommend this book because – although it seems far-off – its theme are quite relatable. Being “Divergent”, Tris does not fit into one single faction like most people. In life, sometimes we don’t feel as though we fit in, just like Tris.
