This book tells two stories. One is about a young boy who goes to the World Trade Center with his dad on September 11, 2001. Another tells the story of how a tween girl in the Middle East deals with the war and all the chaos happening around her. These two stories although 18 years apart connect in a heartfelt way.
I would completely recommend this book because I love how Alan Gratz connects stories and the way the horrible stories of 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan are told. This book is sad, but I definitely recommend it! Alan Gratz is an amazing historical fiction writer.
