Summer vacation is coming to an end as Harry gets ready to go back to Hogwarts for his second year. However, just as his miserable life living with the Dursley’s can’t get any worse, a house elf appears trying to stop Harry from returning to Hogwarts as Hogwarts and those who attend it are in grave danger. Not knowing what the elf meant Harry tries everything in his power along with his friend Ron to reach Hogwarts. However, when they arrive they are punished for their methods, Ron has broken his wand, and there’s a new defense against darks teacher. Not only does Harry hate him, but strange incidents have occurring where any organism dead or alive isn’t safe. It is once again up to Harry and his friends to solve the mystery of these incidents. Will the threat of the school closing its doors becoming a reality or will Harry’s wizarding journey come to a stop as they try to uncover the mystery of the Chamber of Secrets?
I would recommend this book as it goes at a nice pace right after the first book. It increases the severity of the mystery as people all over the school are subject to its wrath. If someone read the first book then they have to continue reading Harry’s journey into the second year as the story becomes a lot more interesting.
