Museum Passes

Museum passes may be borrowed, free of charge, by Bryant Library cardholders (over 18 years of age) who have a library card in good standing. All passes may be reserved up to TWO months in advance. Patrons may reserve each museum pass once - in a 30-day period, and may not reserve more than one pass for the same day.

Beginning August 1, 2018, The Bryant Library will offer 2 types of Museum Passes:

1. PRINT ON DEMAND

 2. PICK UP/RETURN at Library

Borrowers are responsible for calling the museum directly for hours of operation, parking or directions. The museum pass may not provide admission to all exhibits at the museum. The Library is not responsible if the museum is unexpectedly closed.

Click “Request Pass” below to explore our museum pass collection and respective availability.

Q: When may I pick up my Museum Pass?
Passes may be picked up on the reservation date. It is best to make your reservation for the day that you want to pick up your pass.

Q: What museums are available?
A: Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Children's Museum of Manhattan, Cradle of Aviation, The Frick Collection, Garvies Point Museum and Preserve, Guggenheim, Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Long Island Children's Museum, Museum of the City of New York, Museum of Modern Art, Nassau County Museum of Art, New York Historical Society and Old Westbury Gardens.

Q: Do you have to be a Roslyn cardholder to borrow a museum pass?
A: Yes. You need to be a Roslyn cardholder, over 18 years of age.

Q. Where can reservations for Museum Passes be made?
A: Reservations can be made from The Bryant Library website . Patrons may also visit or call the Reference Desk to make a reservation.

Q: Do the passes have restrictions?
A: Passes are subject to availability, and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one pass per museum may be borrowed per cardholder every thirty days. In other words, you can reserve a pass to each museum once per month. Passes can be reserved up to sixty days in advance. If you are unable to use a reserved pass, please contact the library as soon as possible to let us know.

Q: For how long can you borrow a pass and when do they need to be returned?

A: There are now two types of passes with different borrowing guidelines.

·     For Pick up/Return at Library Passes: Museum passes circulate for two (2) days and are checked out and returned at the Reference Desk. We recommend that you reserve them well in advance. We suggest making the reservation for the date you want to pick up the pass.

·     For Print on Demand Passes: These passes can be printed at home or at the Library. Make sure you request the pass for the day that you wish to use it. This pass is valid for one day only – the date of visit listed on the confirmation page. Please print the physical pass to ensure admission; not all museums honor passes shown on a mobile device.

·     For both types of passes, patrons are responsible to check the operating hours of the Library on the day that you are picking up and returning a Museum Pass. Patrons are also responsible to check the Museum’s hours for the date of the planned visit.

Q: What is the penalty for a pass that is returned late?
A: Late fee:  $25 per day.

Q: What is the penalty for a lost pass?
A: Lost pass:  $50.

Q: How do I see which passes are available?
A: If a pass is available to be reserved, you will see a button that says, "Request Pass."

Q: What does "Booked” or “Reserved" mean?
A: This means that the pass is unavailable: it is either “in use” or “reserved” by another cardholder. If you are interested in reserving a pass, find the next available date of your choice. Be sure to
click the name of the museum for information about admission limits.

Q. How may I cancel a reservation?

A. You may cancel a reservation from home. Go to the "My Passes" button, enter your library barcode and click "cancel" next to the pass.  If you will not be using the pass and it is less than 24 hours before your reservation date, please contact the Reference Desk at 621-2240 ext. 240.

We depend on patrons to cancel any reservation that they do not intend to use so that the pass will be available for someone else.

Q: Who do I call if I have a problem?
A: Anyone in the Reference Department will be happy to help. Call us at 621-2240, ext. 240.

Q: Who funds the Museum Pass Program?
A: The
Friends of Bryant Library.
