(The Hunger Games book #3)
After the disaster that was saving the participants in the quarter quell Katniss finds herself in District 13, (thought to be destroyed) preparing for war against the Capitol. Life is tedious as every person follows a predetermined schedule, but Katniss is the face of the rebellion otherwise known as the mockingbird. She attends meetings, gets new gear, and shoots promos to promote the rebellion and keep the faith that the Districts will win. Some Districts are still under attack, but that’s not all as some of her friends are held hostage by the Capitol. With the desire for justice (or maybe revenge?!?!?), motivating Katniss she eventually storms the Capitol and with depressing deaths of loved ones following her journey. Unexpected truths and outcomes are revealed as the war between Districts and the Capitol nears its end.
I liked the book as it was a fulfilling end to the trilogy. Some surprising events occurred and with the war coming to an end the life that Katniss and so many other individuals had to face changes forever. People die, betrayals are made, but the desire held by the rebels to end this dreaded reign that the Capitol has held over them is truly satisfying. If someone has read the first two books of this series then reading the third is a must to find out the fate of not only Katniss, but dozens of other individuals.
