After a summer spent between looking after his sick aunts kids and spending time with Will, a guy he met in North Carolina, Ollie is ready to go back to his home in San Jose. But when his aunt takes a turn for the worst, his parents decide it would be best for them to temporarily move in with her family. However, when Ollie starts his new school as a senior in high school, he finds that making friends…and ignoring Will is harder than he thought. Only Mostly Devastated follows Ollie’s struggle between his growing feelings for Will, his longing for his friends back home and the fear of what will happen to his fragile family situation.
I would recommend this book. It is a very quick read as the shorter chapters and excitement only builds up as you keep reading. Although at times I felt myself becoming frustrated with the choices the characters made, the ending made it worth the slower pace at times.
