Henry Page is a high school senior who is not ambitious about falling in love. His life is changed when he meets the new girl, Grace Town. As their relationship advances, he soon learns that she has a disturbing secret.
I would not recommend this book. It’s peppered with cringey pop culture references and laden with cliches, in both the characters and events; Henry and Grace are cookie cutter characters of sad teen romances. There are not any three-dimensional characters; Grace is like the angsty sister of the manic pixie dream girl. Think: same oddness, but lacks the charming quirks. For all of these reasons, the book is not very well written. Despite the cliches and cheesiness, the one thing this book got right is the cuteness of the romance. They flirt and laugh and it actually tricked me into thinking I liked the book! Unfortunately, I don’t. If you want a quick, easy read with a romance, this might be the book for you. But be wary of cliches and “meh” writing.
