(Spy x Family #1)
The story follows a famous spy who was given the task to unveil the deeds of a man running a prestigious private school. In order to go under cover, he has to create the perfect family so that his “child” could join this school. Through a series of events he proposes to a woman and she agrees. However what he doesn’t know is that this woman is actually an assassin. Through another series of events they adopt a child from an orphanage, but what they both don’t know is that this child can read minds. The spy created this family for his mission, the assassin agreed to this family for her mission, neither of them know the others intentions. But the child does and she absolutely loves her cool new family. It’s an interesting dynamic watching the two parents try to juggle their missions whilst trying to maintain secrecy. Meanwhile, the adorable child knows everything and can’t stop adoring her parents for being as cool as they are. Are the parents really only in it for their missions? Is this whole family bond fake? The story reveals an oddly wholesome match up with a unique plot.
I would recommend this story and I highly suggest it to anyone interested in a comedy mixed up with slice of life. It really takes the idea of a wholesome family plot and brings it to the next level. I think anyone that just wants to sit back and read something interesting, whilst almost smiling, this is perfect them. The unique take on the way each character sees their perspective is so fun to see. The spy is so focused on his mission that he tries to keep a stern look on the situation in his head but he can’t help but enjoy moments. This is the same with the assassin and watch the child know the whole situation makes it such a fun experience.
