The Book Thief is about Liesel Meminger who is a 10-year-old girl living in Germany during World War II. After some tragic events, Liesel meets her foster parents, Hans and Rosa Hubermann. She is then exposed to the horrors of the Nazi regime and struggles throughout the book to maintain her innocence. Liesel learns to write from her parents and begins to steal books from the Nazis. Throughout this action packed book, Liesel embarks on a journey of self-discovery and her life as a book thief.
I would recommend this book as it is a really easy and efficient read. Without giving anything away, I truly enjoyed how the book progressed and how Liesel changes throughout the book. I also liked how the author depicted the events (Nazi Germany) in the book. 4/5 read.
