(The Crossover #1)
In the novel The Crossover by Kwame Alexander, the main conflict is man vs. man. In the beginning of the story, twin brothers Josh, and JB love each other, while having a rivalry on the basketball court. They then drift apart when JB gets a girlfriend, focusing on her and not basketball. Meanwhile more serious events are happening, where their father is having extreme heart disease, but trying to hide it from the boys. With their dad in the hospital, and a championship game coming up, the boys are vulnerable in knowing what to do. In conclusion, the novel is about sports, but family conflict as well.
I would definitely recommend the novel The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. The Crossover, is more than just a story about two brothers, but more about literary elements. Each page of the book has a different kind of poem, instead of a normal text, like any other novel. Not only is the novel filled with different poems, it is filled with other literary elements, such as similes, metaphors, and more. The Crossover, is not just a book for sports fans, but is a book for poets, and anybody else trying to get into poetry.
