(The Hunger Games book #1)
This articulately crafted book by Suzanne Collins is a dystopian fiction novel about a teen girl named Katniss Everdeen. The book takes place in a world divided unequally by districts, each one serving a purpose. Katniss being from district 12, the coal mining district. Each year the capitol, district 1, collects 2 kids between the ages of 12-18 and puts them in a game called the hunger games. The 24 children must fight to the death, leaving 1 winner. Katniss’ sister, Primrose, was chosen. Out of her love for her sister, Katniss decided to volunteer to take her place. Katniss makes friends but quickly learns that nothing is permanent. She gains some but loses a lot, and undergoes many physical and emotional hardships.
I would definitely recommend this book. This book is perfect if you are looking for a dystopian action book with romance at its core. This book is one of my favorites and I believe it is a book anyone can enjoy.
