The book revolves around the fact that men’s thoughts can be heard by anyone, and only men (and technically animals). Todd Hewitt, the main character and protagonist of this story lives his life in Prentisstown, a village he grew up in. Interestingly enough, only men are found in Prentisstown. However, Todd Hewitt soon discovers a truth about his town that changes his life forever. Upon discovering this secret, Todd realizes he has to escape from the only place he knew. However, he soon realizes that it is extremely difficult to escape when your thoughts can be heard by anyone. This book follows Todd Hewitt throughout his adventures as he discovers what kind of a person he is and will be.
I recommend this book. It is one of my favorite books of all time. The book is extremely creative (you will understand when you see some of the spelling), and has hidden themes and morals everywhere. I really enjoy his adventures; it is almost like Lord of the Rings adventure – where he travels and find new experiences throughout it.
