(Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1)
Percy Jackson lives with his mom and attends a private school. Later on in the story he finds out his father is the Greek god Poseidon. He joins a summer camp for Demi-gods and the story follows him and his two friends Grover and Annabeth. Zeus’ lightning bolt is stolen and it is believed to be stolen by Percy. He embarks on a journey to recover Zeus’ lightning bolt and clear his own name. In finding the lightning bolt he will also prevent a war against the gods of Olympus.
I would recommend this book because it’s very relatable for any preteens as it follows Percy who is 12 year’s old. It can give younger kids a fun journey to follow and put themselves in Percy’s shoes. There is also sequels to The Lightning Thief that follows other adventures of Percy and his two friends. My review of the book is that it was really good and I would definitely reread it to get a more in depth meaning of the book. They also have a movie that is based off the book called Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. The movie is a pretty accurate depiction of the book minus some scenes.
