(Percy Jackson and the Olympians book #1)
This book was an interesting take on greek mythology. It involved battles between mythological beings such as gods and other creatures. It starts off with Percy Jackson who has to fight off a minotaur and proves himself to camp half-blood, which is where he will train and become his second home. He also finds out that a half-blood is the children of gods, and that he himself is a child of a god. He receives a quest and along with his friends, he moves on in his journey to help the gods.
I liked this book because it was an excellent start to a great series. It was thrilling and really sympathetic towards Percy. It was fun to imagine the scenarios in which he was in, and all the battles were well detailed. One of my favorite parts was a friendly battle near the beginning of the book that showed Percy’s powers and his status. I would definitely recommend this book and the rest of the series as a great start for fantasy reading and overall a fun time while reading.
