This book follows a unique main character. Olivia gets into a car crash and loses her memories of the past few years. She remembers how things were at 14, but sees that her personal relationships have changed drastically since then. This book is about her attempts at understanding all she’s forgotten, and rediscovering herself in the process.
I think that while the premise is really interesting, and the book is compelling from time to time, it overall falls short of my expectations. I really enjoy mysteries, and having a character’s main mystery be about their own life is really clever, however the book meanders and drolls on with the mysteries. Beyond that, I didn’t find any of the characters compelling enough to feel really invested in learning about them. Nonetheless, I don’t regret reading the book, and there were some parts I really enjoyed. However, I’m sure there are plenty of books who have a similar premise and are executed better. I’d recommend those instead.
