Two Can Keep A Secret tells the story of Ellery who goes to live with her grandma, who she barely knows, in the small desolate town of Echo Ridge. It seems to be a quite town but is filled with an eerie uncertainty. Ellery’s aunt went missing there when she was seventeen and the homecoming queen had been murdered a few years prior to Ellery’s arrival. Now, Ellery has become a potential target of a mystery murderer, whom may or may not be the perpetrator of the town’s previous tragedies.
This book made for a good mystery in that there was never just one. The town’s history of murders and disappearances goes back three generations, keeping the reader on their toes about what may or may not be connected. Despite this, I guessed who the killer was about half-way through the book, then second guessed myself, but what ultimately correct.
